Cast your minds back to the warm sunny days of August for this perfect High House summer wedding of Laura & Paul.
The bride, Laura, took advantage of the beautiful bridal dressing room at High House in Althorne, Essex. Spending the morning getting ready with all her bridesmaids as well as both her mum and the groom’s mum too.
The dressing room is a perfect secluded spot with its own garden and pool area hidden behind a locked gate. A perfect secret garden. With blue skies, beautiful sunshine and that oh so very tempting swimming pool we could have been at a destination wedding on the Mediterranean.
Following Laura and Paul’s wedding ceremony at their local church, Holy Trinity in Rayleigh, the married couple were driven back to High House in a vintage style car. The bridesmaids followed in another car. Even the bride and groom’s grandmothers got a ride in the wedding car, such a sweet touch.
The beautiful grounds of High House are the perfect setting for romantic couple shots. Lawns, benches, lakes and trees are all great picture opportunities. The weeping willow tree is a favourite spot of ours. A great backdrop for the group shots. It’s also a romantic intimate spot for some couple pictures. It gave some well needed shade for Laura & Paul (and us!) on such a gloriously warm summer’s day. And who can forget the white wooden High House bridge? A great spot for arranging the picture of all the wedding guests together.
It was then time for all the guests to head into the stunning marquee for the wedding breakfast. Decorated with beautiful flower displays by Samantha May Floristry as well as a cute candy cart and views of the lake beyond, the marquee looked beautiful.
The couple did have one more surprise to wow their guests. They had rehearsed an amazing mash-up styled first dance unbeknown to anyone. The look of surprise on the faces of friends and family was fabulous and it certainly got the party started!
