Wedding Photography at Creeksea Place Manor | Shannon & Charles
There are some wedding days that simply feel magical from start to finish and Shannon and Charles’ beautiful celebration at Creeksea Place was exactly that.
When Shannon and Charles booked our Collection Two, we were thrilled to know we’d both be there to capture their day. Having both of us (Laura and Dan) behind the cameras means we can document every angle, every reaction, and every fleeting moment, telling the full story of a wedding day as it unfolds.
An Historic Essex Setting
Dating back to 1569, Creeksea Place is a beautiful Tudor manor house steeped in history and grandeur. With it’s impressive building and tranquil setting it is one of Essex’s hidden gems.
Morning Preparations in The Cottage
Shannon and her bridal party spent the morning getting ready in the venue’s sweet little ‘Cottage’. Tucked away yet still part of the main Tudor property, it offered that perfect blend of privacy and connection to the day’s excitement..
There’s always something special about the pre-ceremony moments – hair styling, finishing touches, bursts of laughter, and a few happy tears. From the upstairs window, we watched guests begin to arrive, which only added to the buzz in the room. You could feel the anticipation building as the ceremony time drew closer.
Meanwhile, Charles made quite the entrance.
Arriving in a Rolls Royce with his groomsmen, all dressed in sharp black suits and ties, he pulled up to the manor house in serious style. It was effortlessly cool and, of course, made for some fantastic photographs against the historic backdrop.
A Little Rain… and a Lot of Magic
Shannon and Charles had their hearts set on an outdoor ceremony. But on the morning of the wedding, the weather had other ideas. It rained… and rained… and rained some more.
Yet just as guests began to gather and the ceremony time approached, something wonderful happened – the rain stopped. Almost as if on cue, the skies cleared enough for their dream outdoor ceremony to go ahead.
Nestled in a small clearing framed by trees and ancient brick walls, the outdoor ceremony space at Creeksea Place is nothing short of enchanting. Intimate, romantic, and full of character, it was the perfect place for Shannon and Charles to say their “I dos.” Seeing their vision come to life after such a wet start made the moment even more special.
A Relaxed, Joy-Filled Celebration
One of the things we loved most about this wedding was how beautifully it reflected Shannon and Charles as a couple. Laid-back, warm, and completely focused on enjoying every second with their favourite people.
Their relaxed approach suited our natural photography style perfectly.
In place of a traditional wedding breakfast and opting to skip a formal table plan, their favourite burger truck served burgers and chips (always a crowd-pleaser!). Children ran around playing lawn games between ice creams, laughter echoed across the grounds, and the whole atmosphere felt effortlessly joyful.
The details were just as memorable such as an eye-catching black iced wedding cake that made a bold statement and later in the evening, Shannon wore a personalised white denim jacket, adding a fun and stylish twist to her bridal look.
Telling the Whole Story
From rain-soaked anticipation to golden-hour celebrations on the lawn, Shannon and Charles’ wedding was a perfect reminder that sometimes the most beautiful days are the ones that don’t go exactly to plan but turn out even better than imagined.
It was an absolute privilege to document their story at Creeksea Place, capturing both the big emotional moments and the in-between glances that often mean the most.
Shannon and Charles, thank you for trusting us to tell your story.
