Our Favourite Five series is back! This is a series of blog posts where we ask our couples to select their favourite five photographs and explain why they love these pictures so much.

It has been a little while since our last post in this series so a HUGE thank you goes out to Olivia and Michael for sharing their favourite five with us.

Olivia and Michael’s wedding was at Hylands House, Chelmsford, during the summer heatwave in 2022. Their ‘Favourite Five’ is slightly different to previous posts because Olivia and Michael have chosen a photograph from their pre-wedding shoot which we also did at Hylands Estate. Their lovely three dogs weren’t going to be at their wedding so they brought them along for the pre-wedding shoot and loved the pictures so much that they wanted to include one here.

We always love seeing the pictures that our couples choose and hearing the reasons behind their selections. We are always proud of the fact that so often our couples choose candid photos, the type of photograph that shows natural expressions and emotions. These are the images that we are passionate about capturing, authentic moments that tell the story of their day.

Without further ado, here are Olivia and Michael’s Favourite Five, accompanied by their own words.

This photo was from our engagement shoot but we had to include it in our top 5 because we loved having our dogs in the shot. Dan was a great help in getting the dogs to look at the camera!

This was one of the first moments after we exchanged our vows. We were both so happy and relieved that we didn’t mess up the words.

Our absolute FAVOURITE picture of the day. It’s such a natural photo of us and our guestes. This pic is hanging up in our living room.

The bouquet toss was great fun. We had loads of eager guests but I (Olivia) ended up throwing it far away from the guests. Luckily, one of our guests managed to find the bouquet!

Our first dance song was Baby, I love Your Way (written by Peter Frampton). We booked an amazing singer called Irie J for our wedding, and he sang the song with the most enchanting voice.
