Welcome to our third ‘Favourite Five’ post – this is a little series of blogs we’re producing where we ask our couples to select just five of their favourite wedding photographs from their gallery & share with us all why these particular images mean so much to them.

This time last year (almost precisely) we were on our way to The Compasses at Pattiswick to photograph Heidi & Ali’s New Years Eve wedding. We had met and chatted to Heidi & Ali several times over the year and we were thoroughly looking forward to spending New Years Eve with them, their family & their friends. We were certain it was going to be a beautiful winter wedding followed by a great celebration & we were not disappointed.

It is particularly poignant for us as it was the last wedding we photographed before the chaos of Covid-19 took over and threw everyone’s lives and wedding plans into confusion and uncertainty. We, as well as most of our couples and colleagues in the wedding industry, cannot wait to be back at a wedding like this!

Like the choices of previous couples in this series, the selections that Heidi & Ali made have warmed our hearts. They have chosen intimate moments with family, fun memories of loved ones as well as a couple of great party pictures – what a night it was!

So here are Heidi & Ali’s Five Favourites, accompanied by their own words, we hope you enjoy seeing them as much as we have.

The moment of calm for the bridal party, if not the bride. Just before the service, relaxed and informal, really reflecting the style and feel of our special day.

This picture is a rare moment of quiet and reflection together on a happy and wonderful but busy New Years Eve wedding, it’s a perfect example of what Eyeshine do and what we wanted, a relaxed informal account of the day. Dan & Laura were amazing, and we hardly saw them, but they were invisible “everywhere”!

One of our favourite photos and we used it full size in our beautiful wedding album. Dan & Laura cleverly captured two stories in one here: “us”, singing & dancing on the dance floor but also the bridesmaids behind us doing their own routine! A perfect moment captured for us.

Special times and memories of dancing and laughing; this picture makes us smile and remember the best times with wonderful people and friends.

Got to be Y.M.C.A hasn’t it? Hard to tell, but we had an awesome time singing and dancing the night away & the whole day went so fast! We loved that the dance floor was full of people having fun and the photos showed us all having an awesome wedding and NYE party. We were lucky to end 2019 NYE with family and friends.
